Late
17th century English needlework box in superb state of preservation
with brilliantly
colored silk floss embroidery and silver thread trim. Original silver
leafed bun feet and
white engraved metal escutcheon and hinges. The interior features salmon
pink silk and
hand colored engraving lining paper featuring a couple with dog. There
is a removable tray
with two secret drawers, original mirrors, one inside the lid the other
in the bottom
reflecting the couple.

Condition: Some
slight warping on the top, some bubbling inside of the engraving and
some shredding of the silver metal trim, all are consistent of age. |
