A
rare length of Fortuny 1920’s tightly woven cotton, satin weave
fabric, the back has a
silk faille backing that Fortuny is so well known for. This fabric is
in his “Crosoni”
pattern of a French Directoire design of a large cross motif of silver
patterned oak and
mountain laurel leaves on a sage green ground. Fully lined with a coordinating
Dupioni
silk that shimmers from greens to reds. Early period a discontinued pattern
and rare
ground color, a continuous length of 8 yards. The height of the pattern
measures 16”.
