A most elegant way to store your thimble
and needles is with this circa 1830 English tortoiseshell thimble box
in the shape of a knife box. The inside is lined with purple silk velvet
and has a raised post for a thimble and an ivory divider in which to
store packets of pins behind, one packet of antique English needles
are enclosed. The lid has a silver metal plaque that isn’t inscribed
and has the original hinge and metal button closure that are in perfect
working order. One tiny crack on the left front side otherwise in wonderful
overall condition. |
