The
perfect complement to any sewing tool collection is this circa 1830
English
blonde tortoiseshell pin box. The inside is lined with royal blue and
gold starred
paper, the outside bottom is lined with a very thin layer of red leather
with bun
feet of ivory. There is a silver metal cartouche on top but not inscribed,
a metal
hinge and silver metal button closure in perfect working order. No maker’s
mark
found, one tiny crack on the top right corner otherwise in perfect condition.
An
elegant way to save your straight pins, these boxes look wonderful grouped
with
other tortoiseshell. (Other items sold individually)
