A rare circa 1800 continental knitted pincushion ball worked in taupe and
brown silks. One side with the sentiment “A trifle from broad stairs” with small
dogs, the other side a three mast ship. Finished around the edges with a braided
cord. Discolored from age that is typical for a cloth item of this age, the perfect
accompaniment for any sewing tool collection.
